Animal Biology

  • "Flight mice engaged in a full range of species-typical behaviors, including feeding, self-grooming, huddling and social interactions, and remained active and mobile throughout the experiment."-NASA

  • "Younger flight mice developed a distinctive circling or ‘race-tracking’ behavior around the habitat walls, which quickly evolved into a coordinated group activity."- NASA

Plant Biology

  • Nasa' program 'Veggie' is working on providing fresh food in the ISS. More details -

  • "Each plant grows in a “pillow” filled with a clay-based growth media and fertilizer."-NASA

  • Arabidopsis (Thale cress), Bok choy (Tokyo Bekana) (Chinese cabbage), Super dwarf wheat, Apogey wheat, Brassica rapa, Rice, etc have been grown in space.
